Interesting. I had a cousin go there in the late 60's to rid him of "the delinquent child," (we lived in the Detroit area).

I always wondered why State Route 3 was called Lima Road, when it didn't go anywhere near Lima, Ohio.

One other note about Howe. After 40 years, Howe Military School's WHWE (89.7fm, Howe) recently fell silent and surrendered its license to the FCC. The station signed on 1 May 1970.

That explains why the school that used to nearby was called the Lima-Brighton school.
