Mike Clendenen has been selected to serve as the new Director of the New Haven/Adams Township Parks and Recreation Department.
He is a long-time member of the New Haven/Adams Park Board and brings a real passion to the job. He succeeds Ken Wilkinson as Director.
Ken Wilkinson had a keen interest in greenways and trails and Mike brings that same interest to bear.
Mike is a running friend of mine. He'll go the distance.
I just called Mike to congratulate him. He's a great guy!
This new job is ideally suited to his passions and interests, and I'm glad to hear his family and the community are so supportive. He's going to represent New Haven very well.
Crumback-Symons Chevrolet is losing their very best sales person. My family has bought through Mike since he joined the dealership. What a loss for us :-(
Ed. note: Unfortunately, I will be out of state when the Minster (Oh) Oktoberfest 10K is run the weekend after this. Mike is part of our group which has made this an annual pilgrimage.

Thanks Mitch and Jason for the kind words. I am truley blessed to be able to serve my community in a field I am passionate about. The community support for me so far has been overwelming.
But before I begin my Parks career, I hope to go the distance this Saturday when I run in the Fort-4-Fitness mini marathon. This is an exciting event for Fort Wayne and the local running community. Being my first mini I am happy to be part of it. Good Luck to the over 2000 runners and have a safe race.
Ed. note: FWOb did observe Mr. Clendenen toeing the start line on Saturday morning.
