The US Men's National Soccer Team defeated China in San Diego:
DaMarcus Beasley, Benny Feilhaber, Clint Dempsey and Oguchi Onyewu scored as the U.S.Mens National Team (USMNT) notched a comfortable 4-1 victory over China in a friendly international at Spartan Stadium San Jose, Calif., on Saturday.
The match, scheduled as a warm-up game ahead of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, improved the USA's overall record in 2007 to 4-0-1 in five games under recently appointed head coach Bob Bradley.
Mr. Beasley, who was on loan through mid-May by Manchester City, is drawing interest from several other European teams. The Yanks Abroad's Greg Seltzer reported:
PSV Eindhoven winger DaMarcus Beasley is drawing interest from a handful of English and Scottish clubs, most notably Old Firm giants Rangers.
The Indiana native spent the 2006/07 campaign on loan with Manchester City, who wanted to retain his services even after dumping coach Stuart Pearce - albeit not at PSV's asking price.
Claudio Reyna's former club have now entered a growing chase that may still include the Citizens; according to Beasley's agent, talks have begun with at least one of the suitors.
