Scott Greider reports from the sophisticated environs of Manhattan:
Old news, I know, but thought you might enjoy the fact that I was riding in an elevator here in NYC the other day with a woman I'd seen before in the building who was carrying a Vera Bradley bag. A young, hip, and fashionable woman. She swore they were the greatest! I told her they're made in my hometown of Fort Wayne, to which she replied, "Where's that?"
VB does a lot for the local community, but I've never liked their bags. I'll never understand why they are a status symbol. I think the patterns are garish, and unless you have an outfit made of the same material/color, the bags don't really go with anything.
Now, the fine aroma and style of a Coach bag (plain leather, no pattern) is a joy to behold. How can you not love a purse company whose founder was inspired by the leather characteristics of the All-American baseball mitt to create a new line of bags?
Coach didn't pay me to post this. But if they want to pay me for future postings to plug their stuff, I'm down with that. Boy, am I EVER down with that...
