As Campaign Manager for the Kelty For Mayor Committee, I want to apologize for any inconvenience or confusion that might have been caused by the recent mailing of Absentee Ballot Request Forms to Republican voters. In our effort to encourage voters in what is expected to be a low voter turnout for the Primary in May, we sent out pre-filled applications that had the Republican preference box checked. At the time we were unaware that a new law had gone into effect just this year that forbids this heretofore very common practice. It was an honest mistake. As soon as the Allen County Election Board notified us of this new code, we made immediate adjustments and are now sending only blank Absentee Ballot request forms. Thank you for your understanding.
