Thanks for putting up the original WSJ post and also for including our prosecuting attorney's comments. It is good food for thought and the type of discussion that we need to have. You know: thoughtful, civil, and based on evidence and experience. This is the "high end" of blogging.

Forgive me if I laugh while our country prosecutor pretends to be tough on crime.

I guess drug dealers don't get breaks like people who unload an entire clip into two people in a hobby lobby parking lot. Doing that evidently only warrants an 8 month jail sentence...

We should be placing a higher priority on prosecuting violent offenders. Plea bargains aren't going to cut it.
