Tracy Warner reports that Roy Buskirk has informed the Allen County Election Board that he's created a committee (no word on whether it's an exploratory committee or a principal committee) and that Buskirk is running for commissioner against incumbent Linda Bloom, which Buskirk has been very open about for some time.
County Councilman Roy Buskirk filed his campaign committee with the Allen County Election Board on Oct. 6. Buskirk has been on the council since 2003, when GOP precinct committeemen chose him from 11 candidates to fill the remainder of the term of Sandra Houlihan after she moved out of the county. He was elected to a full council term last year after finishing second in the nine-person 2004 GOP primary for three at-large nominations. Buskisk had placed fourth in a 13-person GOP primary field for an at-large county council nomination in 2000 and lost to Cal Miller for the fourth district seat in 2002.
Tracy also notes my story on Bill Brown from last week.
