The first Fort Wayne Air Show in 13 years attracted more visitors in its first day than organizers had set as a benchmark of success for the two day run. The attendance goals were exceeded even in the face of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Isaac.
Col. David Augenstine, Base Commander of the 122nd Fighter Wing, Director Kathryn Gentz and their teams are to be commended for the outstanding turnout.

Considering the weather my family and I had a great time. It was my two grandsons' first airshow and they loved it. The F-22 demo was just awe inspiring. Let's go for bigger and better next time. Perhaps even more static displays? Blue Angels? Thunderbirds?

MItch:
I was there on Saturday and I posted pictures on my blog (today).
I've been to MANY air shows (mostly on the East coast) and I have to say I was very impressed with the schedule of events and static displays.
(I see YOU made it up to the cockpit of that C-5, too...way to go).
This was a wonderful event (albeit rain-shortened on Saturday).
All of the ANG personnel were very cordial and extrememly helpful...
(yes, I spoke to a few)
I look forward to the NEXT air show.
Fort Wayne (and the 122nd ANG) did itself proud!
