Tony Dungy was a phenomenal coach and is a great man and role model. His presence will certainly be missed on the sidelines of all the Colts' games next year.

North Side HS has hosted visits from a variety of dignitaries over the past 12 months, not the least of whom is Michelle Obama. This is great for the students. I don't recall anyone famous ever visiting Omaha Westside High School, at least not while I was there 100 years ago.
And I second Mr. Metel's comments about Coach Dungy. It is wonderful that he is sharing his experience and wisdom with young people.
Ed. note: The story I like best about a famous personage visiting a Fort Wayne area high school is when former President Gerald Ford went to Homestead High School. President Ford came just because a Homestead High School student sent Mr. Ford a personal letter asking him to visit.
If one of our readers remembers Mr. Ford's visit or can identify the student who wrote the letter - please comment. And please let us know how much extra credit the student received.

I believe the student was Adam Probst.

Being somewhat of a newcomer to Fort Wayne, I have to ask: Why Northside High School? As I have noticed, there are many many high schools in Fort Wayne. Why do "they all" keep picking Northside? (Yes, I am aware it's not JUST Northside, however it seems to be the "trend" lately. Can anyone explain?
