Two drawings

Kat Rohrbacher recently received much notice for her art show at the SOMA gallery titled "Memento Mori" which opened on June 28th. (See FWOb post hereNews Sentinel story here and the JG's Steve Penhollow story here).

Ms. Rohrbacher is currently a graduate student at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.

She also has entries in two art shows currently in Fort Wayne.  One is the Artist Members' Exhibition at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and the other is the Members' Show at Artlink.  Both shows had openings last Friday; I was pleased to have attended both.

"Memento Mori" is a work of charcoal drawings of 164 local obituary photographs. The photos appeared in the Fort Wayne Newspapers during April 2007.  The work was accompanied by lighter line drawings of the images of the 164 lives so honored.

Ms. Rohrbacher has completed two more charcoal drawings of two gentlemen who died within 5 months of each other and within 5 months of April 2007.  Kat Rohrbacher has posted the images on the internet and we share those images here.

"Memento Mori" translates as "remember, you shall die."  We will all one day pass. Our time is short, our remembrances fleeting.  Thank you, Kat.

Yes, thank you.

That's a nice drawing of your father Mitch. I don't think we ever talked without him making me laugh. He was a great guy.

great drawing of your dad and Dawn's dad. Both these men were great people.
Was in to the family funeral home the other day and When I saw Gregg I immediately recognized Homer jr..
