Key KPC exec overseeing Fort Wayne Business Weekly named publisher of Fort Worth Business Press

Banks Dishmon, former corporate vice-president of sales and marketing at KPC Media Group, Inc. has been named as the publisher of the Fort Worth Business Press.  KPC Media Group publishes the Fort Wayne Business Weekly in addition to numerous other publications.

KPC Media had announced Friday that Bret Jacomet of Van Wert was replacing Mr. Dishmon "who was named publisher of a business newspaper in Fort Worth, Texas."

John-Laurent Tronche of the Fort Worth Business Press reported:

Dishmon has spent a lifetime in the media business – from delivering papers as a boy to managing nationally recognized publications – and said he looks forward to building on the Business Press’ foundation and enhancing the print and online aspects of the paper.

The Frisco native previously has managed news publications in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and most recently served as corporate vice president of sales and marketing at KPC Media Group Inc. in Fort Wayne, Ind. Dishmon oversaw the creation and management of several publications at KPC, including the Fort Wayne Business Weekly.

Brown Publishing Co. CEO Roy Brown, whose Tipp City, Ohio-based company owns the Business Press, said Dishmon’s experience in starting and running publications is a perfect fit for the Fort Worth paper.

Brown Media Holdings purchased business publications in Fort Worth and Des Moines, Iowa in late 2007. Brown also publishes the Van Wert Times - Bulletin.   The Van Wert Times is part of a metro Fort Wayne newspaper advertising network in which the KPC Media Group participates.  AdNet allows advertisers to contract with one source for inserts and other advertising being placed in the daily newspapers in the counties adjacent to Allen County.

Brown Publishing was started by the late long-time Ohio Congressman Clarence Brown.  His sons, Roy and Clancy Brown have both been officers in the company.  Clancy Brown is also an actor who may be best-known as the voice of Mr. Krabs on the animated series SpongeBob Squarepants.
