Was Niki Kelly or Ben Lanka just thinking of a prominent Broadway and Hollywood actor? Or does one first-time candidate just have a little more work to do in terms of name recognition?
Whatever it was, this morning's Political Notebook column got the name of the Democratic candidate challenging incumbent US Representative Mark Souder slightly off. In a column item on the visit of Bill Clinton to Fort Wayne, Political Notebook published:
Other prominent Democrats in attendance included Mayor Tom Henry [...] and congressional candidate Joe Montagano.
For the record, the candidate's name is Michael Montagano. Perhaps Political Notebook was thinking of Chicago-born actor Joe Mantegna. Mr. Montagano is shown on the left; Mr. Mantegna is shown on the right.
Mr. Mantegna is a busy actor on stage, film and television. He is most prominently known for his roles in the works of playwright David Mamet such as Glengarry Glen Ross, Speed-the-Plow and numerous films.
