New book by Huntington professor Smith adds to Vietnam War scholarship
Huntington University history professor Timothy O. Smith has added to the published scholarship of the Vietnam War with the release of his new book titled “Britain and the Origins of the Vietnam War: UK Policy in Indo-China, 1943-50". The book is available through the website of the book's publisher Palgrave Macmillan.
The publisher's description: “Offering a bold new interpretation of British foreign policy, ‘"Britain and the Origins of the Vietnam War’ deftly examines Britain’s involvement with Vietnam from Churchill’s World War II deliberations – about Roosevelt’s desire to remove Indo-China from the French Empire – to the zenith and subsequent unraveling of British foreign policy in 1950”.
Huntington University has a well-regarded history program. Dr. Smith became a member of the Huntington University faculty this year. He is a native of the United Kingdom.
