Carole Lombard, Shelley Long, Jenna Fischer
Like several noted comedic actresses before her, Jenna Fischer, co-star of NBC's Emmy-winning show "The Office," was born right here in Fort Wayne. (At age two, her family moved to St. Louis, where she grew up.)
Fischer spoke about her birth city in a recent appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman." Here's the transcript of the exchange:
Jenna Fischer: Well I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana...
David Letterman: Oh, Fort Wayne, Indiana!
Jenna Fischer: Yeah!
David Letterman: The Summit City.
Jenna Fischer: Is it?
(crowd laughs)
David Letterman: Well it used to be. I don't know...
Jenna Fischer: I believe you. I believe it is.

Maybe it's because I've only been back in Fort Wayne for under a year now, but I had no clue until now that she was from Fort Wayne....that's great, even if she might not know it's the Summit City!!

At least Carole got top billing. -smile-
I'd like to see Zach Klein on Letterman, though; he'd probably wear a Fort Wayne t-shirt.
