Visitors to Fort Wayne Observed and Indiana Parley were asked to cast votes in an online "straw poll" for three races in the Allen County Republican Primary. The polls ran from February 25th to March 7th.
The results:
County Commissioner - 2nd District
Bill Brown 53% 587 votes
Marla Irving (I) 47% 519 votes
Total votes 1106 votes
County Commissioner - 3rd District
Linda Bloom (I) 56% 341 votes
Roy Buskirk 44% 272 votes
Total votes 613 votes
Sheriff
Mike Foster 15% 88 votes
Ken Fries 64% 374 votes
Guy Griffith 15% 92 votes
Mike Keesler 5% 30 votes
Total votes 584 votes
These results are unscientific and only reflect the votes cast by the visitors to the two weblogs which posted the poll. However, one initial conclusion can be drawn regarding the County Commissioner race in the 2nd District. It is that both Marla Irving and Bill Brown have organizations that can activate supporters to participate in an exercise like this one. This is in sharp contrast to the other County Commissioner district. It just reinforces what one could surmise from campaigns in which one went up early with billboards and the other side promptly matched it.
